Recruitment is commencing for the Children’s Rights Alliance and the Bar of Ireland one-year Fellowship Programme for newly-qualified barristers. Now in its third year, this fellowship is named in honour of Judge Catherine McGuinness, one of Ireland’s greatest children’s rights champions. The fellowship is supported by the Family Lawyers’ Association of Ireland.
The Fellow will work and be managed as part of the Children’s Rights Alliance Legal and Policy Team. The position is based in the Children’s Rights Alliance offices, is one day a week for one calendar year (commencing September 2017) and receives a monthly stipend.
Applicants should be recently-qualified barristers (preferably within four years), with a demonstrated interest and commitment to children’s rights. They must possess the ability to work on their own initiative. The Fellow will prepare an article for the Bar Review, the Family Law Journal and deliver lectures for Law Library members and at the annual conference of the Family Lawyers Association of Ireland.
