DLA Piper is seeking a Pro Bono & Community Engagement Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Pro Bono & Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Responsibility Manager - International, this position is responsible for the implementation of the firm's pro bono program and community engagement initiatives in continental Europe.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• the development and implementation of regional work plans which outline the annual pro bono and community engagement activity within the region;
• the generation of pro bono work for European lawyers; assessment of pro bono applications and allocation to fee earners;
• monitoring performance against the firm's pro bono policy;
• assistance with the implementation of global community engagement initiatives, particularly taking ownership for their execution within Europe;
• identifying opportunities for regional community engagement projects and implementing those projects;
• international and regional disaster response;
• supporting and assisting the local Pro Bono Coordinators and Community Engagement Coordinators in each office within the region;
• client development;
• external and internal communications;
• monitoring and reporting on all pro bono and community engagement work being undertaken in Europe.
The successful candidate will have approximately five years' previous experience in the design and delivery of pro bono and community strategies across a business on a regional level, and will have proven project management and organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a diverse team. Relationship management, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills are all essential for this role, alongside a professional and credible persona. A law degree will be highly regarded. Proficiency in at least two European languages is also required.
