Respond! Housing Association seeks Mental Health Support Intern, deadline 19 August 2011

The role of the Mental Health Support Intern is to assist in the provision of a professional therapeutic response to families living in social housing estates who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

The internship is a 9 month JobBridge internship. An Internship Allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payments. Candidates must also be eligible for the JobBridge scheme i.e. have claimed Jobseekers Allowance / Benefit or signing for social insurance contribution credits for minimum of 3 months.

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor in Social Studies or Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Psychiatric) or other relevant qualification
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
• Excellent interpersonal skills and non judgmental attitude
• Experience of working with families is desirable but not essential
• A full driver's license and full use of a car is essential
