The Role
The Communications and Advocacy Manager will implement the Communications Strategy to grow brand awareness and support through public relations, marketing and digital marketing, as well as developing Depaul’s Advocacy strategy and related activity.
Responsibility for driving implementation of Depaul’s successful communications strategy, including media, PR, marketing, and digital marketing while developing Depaul’s Advocacy strategy and managing activity with regard to public affairs, research, policy and campaigns.
Developing and implementing PR, communications and marketing strategies that cover the full mix of communications and marketing tools, including media and public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, and digital media to build brand awareness, market services, promote income generation, employer branding, communicate programmes, activities, and impact.
Provide regular information including annual reports, strategic plans, Depaul Research reports and other publications to the Director of Fundraising and Communications, CEO and Board while overseeing all research (internal and external) that highlights the needs among those affected by homelessness and the professionals who work with them.
Lead and provide strategic direction on the new communications and advocacy strategy with the Director of Fundraising and Communications supervising the work of the Digital Marketing Specialist, ensuring the implementation, operation, monitoring and review of the organisation’s digital strategy, including social media management and website maintenance and development.
Person Requirements
A third level degree in communications, advocacy, marketing, PR or another subject with role relevance.
Minimum of two years working successfully in a senior role within a not-for-profit or communications, advocacy, PR or marketing environment.
Ability to take a creative approach to developing the long-term communications and advocacy marketing of the organisation to implement plans and strategies.
Previous management experience is desirable, but not essential. Depaul provides excellent leadership training opportunities, including our Values in Leadership Programme.
