Title: Risk Management and Compliance Officer

Duration: Three year, fixed term contract

Salary: €40k-€45k, depending on experience 1

Reporting to: Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Risk Management and Compliance Officer will work closely with the Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs and other key stakeholders to drive forward the organisation’s risk management projects and processes. Based in the IRC offices in Merrion Square, Dublin 2, this role will be an important internal resource in monitoring, supporting and implementing internal audit and risk management activities across the organisation.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBLILTIES

• Monitor and keep updated the organisation’s risk register

• Review, update and draft policies on risk management

• Support implementation of the organisation’s risk management plan

• Scope and prepare requests for tender for internal audit projects

• Support the implementation of the organisation’s internal audit plan

• Be a key initial contact point for internal audit stakeholders

• Ensure that internal audit actions are incorporated into the organisation’s risk management framework

• Monitor, support and advise on internal and external compliance matters related to the organisation’s front line work, across both volunteer and staff led initiatives

• Work actively towards the achievement of the Irish Red Cross goals.

• Undertake training and development as required

• Abide by and uphold the Principles of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.

• Undertake any other reasonable work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the relevant line manager that are consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Criteria

• Qualification to degree level in a related area

• 2 years’ experience working in a role that involves report writing, analysis and engagement with a wide variety of stakeholders

• A high level of attention to detail

• Excellent written communication skills with experience in providing high quality analysis and reports

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

• Ability to prioritise and manage time and workload effectively

 

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in the charities sector or in working with membership or volunteerled organisations

• Experience of working with risk management tools and processes

• Experience of tendering and procurement processes

• Experience of working with internal audit processes

• Full, clean, drivers’ licence
