Launch of the Irish Travellers Access to Justice Project Report at the University of Limerick
As you may be aware, the Irish Travellers Access to Justice team at the University of Limerick has been conducting research over the past two years of Travellers’ perceptions of, and experiences with, the criminal justice process. University of Limerick are delighted to let you know that the research has been completed, and the Report will be launched on 23rd June at UL.
About this event
Funded by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission and the Irish Research Council, the Irish Travellers Access to Justice project sought to document Travellers’ perceptions of, and experiences with, the criminal justice process, specifically policing and the courts system. Its purpose was to explain how these experiences and perceptions impact on trust in and strategies towards the justice system, with a view to producing recommendations for criminal justice policy, practice and training which seek to support the operationalisation of the rights of access to justice on the part of the Traveller community.
