Courts Service of Ireland publishes new information on attending Court for lay-litigants

ATT00001

Statement from The Courts Service of Ireland:

As part of the Family Law Reform Programme, we spoke with our service users and listened to their experiences. They told us that attending court for the first time is stressful and confusing. There was very little information available to help them know what to expect. We engaged with a wide range of people who identified and tested the type of information that would be useful, including – Courts Service staff, judiciary, legal practitioners, NGOs/Advocacy groups and some members of the public who had recent cases in the family courts.

This information is now available and can be shared with service users to help them prepare for their court visit and have a clearer understanding of what to expect when in the court building.
