Bar of Ireland: Chair’s Conference on Home and Abroad. Human Rights: Universal Rights? - 16-18 June

The Bar of Ireland is hosting its 2021 Chair’s Conference on Home and Abroad. Human Rights: Universal Rights? which will take place online from 16-18 June.

It is an opportunity for practitioners, academics, policymakers, and the wider public to converge on the most defining issue impacting legal systems and democratic institutions – the rule of law, the protection of human rights against emerging political and societal forces.

The participation of a diverse legal community is a key response to how these challenges are resolved. As such, this year’s Chairs Conference will also focus on the role, participation, and experiences of female lawyers and judges.

All three conference days will be hosted by Maura McNally SC, Chair of the Council of The Bar of Ireland.

16 June: Promoting Human Rights & The Rule of Law in Ireland

17 June: International Tides: Rule of Law Overseas
