Join The Observatory on Violence Agaisnt Women in marking the 16 Days of Action to End Violence Against Women 2020!
The Observatory is an independent network of more than 20 grassroots and national organizations that convene quarterly to monitor progress on violence against women in Ireland and is chaired by NWC.
This annual event focuses on different aspects of the Istanbul Convention, and this year we are examining Gender-Based Harassment through two of the four pillars of the Convention; Prevention and Protection.
Prof. Marceline Naudi will give the keynote address wherein she will examine gender-based harassment under the Istanbul Convention. Among her many accomplishments, Marceline Naudi, a social worker by profession, her practice (in England, Ireland and Malta) included work with children and young people in care and their families, ex-offenders, homeless people, persons with mental health support needs and survivors of domestic violence. She was also the Scientific Co-ordinator of the European Observatory on Femicide. She has represented Malta on the Council of Europe ad Hoc Committee on Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (CAHVIO) which drafted the Istanbul Convention, and is now an elected member and President of its Group of Experts, the GREVIO.
