The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission will soon be accepting applications for the Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme 2020-21.
Access to Rights and Access to Justice:
The theme of the grants scheme this year is empowering people (rights-holders) who face the greatest barriers to justice to access their rights.
The Commission is running a number of information sessions across Ireland to provide information to groups promoting human rights and equality.
The sessions will also provide information on the implementation of the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty and the role of civil society.
Activities eligible for grant support include:
The Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme is open to civil society organisations, including community and voluntary organisations, trade unions, groups representing geographic communities addressing poverty and social exclusion or communities of interest protected under the 9 equality grounds including groups led by people with disabilities and ethnic minorities,.
The Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme will open on Wednesday 11 March 2020. Full guidance and application forms will be available from its website.
Closing date for applications is Monday 4pm, 27 April 2020
