Mary Robinson opens new podcast on climate change with focus on taking action through litigation

Former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner Mary Robinson is spearheading a female-centred approach to combatting climate change, beginning this initiative with a podcast series highlighting the role played by women around the globe in the environmental struggle.

Linking up with comedian Maeve Higgins to form the Mothers of Intervention, the podcast aims to give a platform to female climate change advocates, demonstrating the work being done by various activists, from local level to more global movements.

The first episode looks at new legal strategies for climate action, and profiles cases being taken against governments in The Netherlands, India and the United States. The series will go on to examine colonialism, racism, poverty, migration and social justice, centring on how these issues are intertwined with climate change and other environmental issues.
