NUIG: Reform of abortion law – Friday March 9 2018

The Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway, invites you to attend a morning of talks on the subject of abortion law reform on Friday, March 9th 2018. 

As the mooted date for a referendum on Article 40.3.3 of the Constitution draws closer, the ICHR has drawn together a number of prominent human rights advocates and academics to consider the challenges and possibilities of abortion law in a post-Eighth Amendment Ireland. 

Speakers include: 

Professor Carol Sanger, Barbara Aronstein Black Professor of Law at Columbia Law School and author of About Abortion: Terminating Pregnancy in the 21st Century; 

Les Allamby, Chief Commissioner Northern Irish Human Rights Commission; 

Dr Eilionóir Flynn, Director of the Centre for Disability Law and Policy , NUI Galway;

Dr Claire Murray, School of Law, University College Cork; 

Professor Siobhán Mullally, Director, Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway.
