CESCA (Cork Equality and Sustainable Communities Alliance) is delighted to announce its annual equality conference to commemorate World Human Rights Day.
The theme of this year's conference is "Making Human Rights Real", with the keynote speech will be delivered by Minister David Stanton.
A series of panels will provide perspectives from expert speakers, practitioners, activists and individuals from within communities across two key human rights issues 1. The Rights of Persons with Disabilities and 2. Tackling Hate Crime and Discrimination.
This will be followed by a panel discussion and workshop which will explore the practical application of human rights as an effective tool for social change. We will learn from innovative and successful projects that take a clear right based approach, including the Public Interest Law Alliance (PILA), the Participation and Practice of Rights Belfast, Travellers of North Cork and the implementation of the Public-Sector Duty by Cork City Council.
