The barriers people with intellectual disabilities face if they wish to have romantic or intimate relationships and issues around consent to sex have been at the centre of numerous advocacy campaigns and law reform efforts in recent years. This seminar will look at how the law has changed in this area recently and what still needs to be done. It will feature a mix of personal stories and legal and policy responses. The seminar should be of interest to students, researchers, people with disabilities, family members, and practitioners in the fields of law, health and social care and many others.
This is a free event but please RSVP here via Eventbrite by Friday 1st September as places are limited and refreshments will be provided.
