Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission: Chief Executive – deadline 22 February

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is seeking a Chief Executive, to be based at their headquarters in Belfast with some travel within Northern Ireland, the UK and Ireland an occasionally internationally.

Duties and responsibilities include maintaining the Commission’s Strategic Plan, providing effective leadership to the Commission’s 14 staff and promoting awareness and understanding of human rights and equality, while showing sensitivity to the diversity of perspectives in Northern Ireland.

Candidates must have an honours or postgraduate degree (or equivalent), or professional qualification in a management-related subject, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position and an understanding of human rights issues both locally and internationally.

The assessment process will comprise an application form, after which shortlisted candidates will be interviewed with the possibility on an externally facilitated test/exercise. Interviews will he held on 20 and 21 March.
