The Victims’ Rights Alliance (VRA) is hosting a seminar on 16 November to discuss the implications of the Victims Rights’ Directive on victims of crime in Ireland. The event will pay particular attention to the effect the Directive may have on services such as the Gardaí, prison services, victim support organisations and others such as the Office of the DPP, lawyers and the judiciary.
The event will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Críona Ní Dhálaigh and victims of crime will voice their experiences of the criminal justice system. Other speakers include Chief Superintendent AnneMarie McMahon, Detective Chief Superintendent Padraig Kennedy and Maria McDonald BL.
