Date:                 18 June 2015

Time:                 9am – 1pm

Venue:              Chester Beatty Library, Dublin

The countdown has begun to September’s meeting on the Sustainable Development Goals where National Governments will decide on the seventeen goals that could transform the world by 2030.

This presents an invaluable opportunity for countries around the world to re-think children’s rights and needs. To make the most of this opportunity the Coalition for Children’s Rights, in partnership with the Children’s Rights Alliance and the National Youth Council of Ireland, will hold the ‘Making Rights a Reality’ conference on 18th June 2015 in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle.

TheMaking Rights a RealityConference has two core objectives:

  1. to learn more about the Post-2015 Agenda;
  2. to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to develop a more effective and transparent framework to ensure a better realisation of the rights of children and young people.

The Coalition for Children’s Rights is an entity that comprises Irish-based agencies operating in the sectors of children’s rights in development and emergencies situations. With this conference, the Coalition aims to bring together a multi-sector audience including civil society organisations, relevant Government bodies and academics from Ireland and abroad. It is hoped that the event will spark conversation, strengthen our shared understanding and provide the opportunity to set a platform for information exchange to enable the different stakeholders to understand, manage and monitor effectively the new development goals.
