Date: 9 April
Time: 6 pm
Location: Oak Room, Mansion House, Dawson Street, D 2
The launch of Future Voices new project Youth:Elect will take place on Thursday 9th April in the Mansion House at 6pm. Future Voices will both empower and fully equip marginalised young people under 30 with the practical skills and confidence to represent the voice of their communities and stand for the national elections in Ireland in 2016. Future Voices is working in partnership with every major political party in Ireland who have each pledged to nominate several candidates to the year long programme, as well as having a number of spaces reserved for individuals intending to stand as Independents. All of the participants will receive training in confidence building, grassroots campaigning and campaign management together with targeted personal branding and social media skills, which are all aimed at making them the best possible advocates for their communities. Youth:Elect is designed to encourage these young people to become advocates for change in giving a voice to the marginalised and ensuring effective representation of those who are currently underrepresented at the national level.
