The Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is leading on development of Ireland’s Second National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. It will build on the work of the first Action Plan and its Mid-Term Progress Report. This plan will detail how Ireland will implement United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security, which highlight the distinct adverse effect of conflict on women and girls, as well as the importance of women’s participation in decision making including in peace-building, peace negotiations, etc.
To help inform the development of Ireland’s Second National Action Plan, CRU is issuing an open invitation for submissions to the Consultation Document, available here.
