Executive Director of the Irish Penal Reform Trust - Dublin, deadline 6 February

IPRT wishes to recruit an Executive Director to build on the organisation’s achievements, and to lead the organisation in its next period of development.

It is essential that the successful candidate should have previous experience in a senior management role. The post-holder will have very well developed skills and experience in both operational and strategic leadership and planning. Experience in human resources management is essential.

It is also essential that the candidate should demonstrate expertise in financial management as well as experience in fundraising management in order to oversee and implement a sustainability programme for IPRT.  The successful candidate will report to and be accountable to the Board of IPRT.

Knowledge of Irish penal policy and/or prisoners’ rights is desirable, so that the successful candidate can take an active and positive part in policy-making fora, public discourse and media debate in the area of penal policy and reform. The successful candidate will be the organisation’s spokesperson and take a lead role in advocacy on behalf of IPRT. Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders and involvement in policy-making is also desirable.

A third level qualification is also required, preferably in the area of law, criminology or human rights.

The position is offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. IPRT is an equal opportunities employer.
