Legal Counsel, GOAL

GOAL is an international humanitarian agency established in 1977 and is currently operational in 13 countries world-wide. GOAL has an annual budget of approximately €70m and is supported by a range of donors including the Irish Government, UK Government, USAID and the European Union.

GOAL currently requires an experienced In House Legal Counsel to ensure effective governance for the organisation. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel and assistance to all areas of the organisation including GOAL’s Board of Directors and CEO and will advise the organisation on matters of company law, employment law and other legal issues relevant to GOAL’s day to day operations.

Requirements:

• Third level degree or masters in a legal discipline essential;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role;
• Ability to influence and work across teams;
• Well-developed communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills with the ability to gain and sustain credibility with GOAL’s board members;
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative;
• Flexible, organised and performance focused;
• Good general knowledge of current events, particularly international affairs.
