The JUSTICIA network is delighted to invite you to the launch of our Know Your Rights Guide on the Victims’ Directive. The Guide will be launched officially by Greg Heylin, Director, Victims of Crime Office on 23 September 2013. The event will be addressed also by Maria McDonald BL, author of the Guide, and a representative of Victim Support Europe. This event will be of particular interest to victims of crime, victim support organisations, members of the judiciary and criminal law practitioners.

Adopted in October 2012, the EU Directive establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime, and replacing Council Framework Decision 2001/220/JHA must be transposed by EU Member States (incl. Ireland) by 16 November 2015. The Directive sets out a series of rights for victims of crime and places obligations on States.
