Member (Designate) of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission – Deadline 29 November

The Commission (IHREC) is being established to replace the Equality Authority and Irish Human Rights Commission. The Commission will consist of 15 members, one of whom will be the Chief Commissioner, and will be appointed by the President following a resolution passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas, once the necessary legislation is in place in due course.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to serve as one of fourteen members of the new Commission. Appointment will be for a period of 3 to 5 years and will attract a stipend.

 

Applications must be made by submitting an online application and attaching a) and b) listed below as one document:

 

(a) a comprehensive CV clearly showing your relevant achievements and experience in your career to date.

 

(b) a short (i.e. no more than 2 pages) cover letter/ personal statement outlining why you wish to be considered for the post and where you believe your skills and experience meet the requirements of the position of Member.
