PILA Legal Information and Communications Officer (Maternity Cover) – deadline 24 August

FLAC is seeking to recruit a Legal Information and Communications Officer (Maternity Cover) for PILA. The Legal Information and Communications Officer position will be offered on a fixed term contract basis from October 2012 to April 2013 and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Essential requirements:

• Law degree or equivalent;
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to draft engaging and succinct content targeted to both legal and non-legal audiences;
• Strong understanding of technology;
• Strong understanding of Twitter, Facebook and other online marketing tools;
• Some experience of marketing;
• Pro-active and hard-working attitude
• The ability to work well under pressure and to work independently.
• A commitment to human rights and social justice

Desirable

• Some experience in legal practice
• Experience using a CMS/managing a website
• Experience using online marketing tools to promote a product or service;
• Experience managing staff and managing projects (preferably technology projects)
