Campaign for Children - Legal Internship - deadline 25 April

Campaign For Children is committed to an Ireland where children are recognised and respected as full individuals within society. The organisation is currently engaged in a series of public education, advocacy and campaigning activities to ensure the full realisation of this vision.

Campaign for Children is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who shares this vision and has knowledge of Irish law and children's rights.

An intern with Campaign for Children will work under the supervision of a Legal Researcher and Policy Officer. He or she will be required to assist on a variety of tasks and projects relating to Campaign for Children's work. The intern will gain experience in carrying out legal research for a campaign and of working for a busy not-for-profit organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking legal research
  • Assisting in the coordination and organisation of conferences, events and meetings
  • Monitoring Oireachtas debates
  • Assisting in the production of campaign materials
  • Carrying out relevant administrative tasks
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned by the legal and research officer

Skills and Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Irish law
  • Knowledge of human rights law and EU law is desirable
  • Experience of legal research
  • Experience of organising events
  • Keen interest in children's rights
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent written, communication and IT skills

Details of Internship:

  • This is a part-time position. Hours will be agreed with applicant.
  • Minimum commitment: 4 months.
  • Remuneration: Local public transport and daily lunch allowance will be provided.
  • The intern will be based in Temple Bar in Dublin.
