How can we more effectively protect human rights? Are there examples of global best practice from which inspiration could be drawn?
To mark Human Rights Week 2011, Ireland's independent human rights watchdog, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) will host a major international seminar in Dublin.
Speakers are expected to include Hossam Bahgat, Director of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) and a leading figure in this year's Tahrir Square uprising in Cairo,
Shami Chakrabarti, Director, Liberty (UK), Hagai El-Ad, Executive Director, Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) and Anthony Romero, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
