UNHCR are now accepting applications for two full time internships with the Protection Unit.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of refugees. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn about UNHCR's work and
mandate at the international level, in the EU and in Ireland. The successful candidates will also receive on-the-job training and complete self-study modules, including self-study learning on international refugee law.
Main function: Providing support to the Protection Unit
Period: One position is available for the period 12 December 2011 to 12 June 2012; another position is available for the period 3 January 2012 to 3 July 2012
Duration: Six months, Monday to Friday (9.00 - 5.30) full time
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Remuneration: The internships are unpaid. A small allowance is payable for travel expenses.
