Front Line seeks Grant Intern, deadline 12 August 2011

Front Line, The International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders invites applications for a 51 week internship. The internship will be based in Front Line's office in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The intern will offer administrative assistance to Front Line's Grants Coordinator. The Grants Program provides practical assistance to human rights defenders at risk worldwide. The successful candidate will have a relevant undergraduate degree, excellent administrative and computer skills, as well as practical experience in an administrative role. The candidate must be able to work in English and a second language is strongly desirable (French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian).

The candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and as a member of a team. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and be flexible and co-operative.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate their commitment to human rights and their understanding of international issues. The candidate will be trained in relation to Human Rights Defenders; the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders; the role of Front Line and other national and international organisations in the support and protection of Human Rights Defenders.

Honorarium: €1050 per month.
