The Carmichael Centre for Voluntary groups is a dynamic learning environment which builds stronger charitable, community and voluntary groups nationwide by providing the shared services, targeted training, good practice and governance support they need to build effective and sustainable organisations.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will have responsibility for delivering on the strategic plan and supporting and implementing successful strategies for the future. The CEO will also be responsible for developing the centre to create a broader service through effective management of existing funding and the acquisition of additional funding.
The position requires a committed professional with a track record of success in a leadership role and a keen interest and understanding of the issues facing the community and voluntary sector. He/She will have excellent managerial capabilities, sound financial and budgetary skills, and a proven ability in fundraising and relationship management. An understanding of the policy- making process in the voluntary sector is essential, as is empathy with core values of the organisation and the issues concerning member organisations.
