The purpose of the post is to provide outreach, campaigns and lobbying assistance to Older & Bolder to support the alliance in the achievement of our objectives.
This is a post for an individual with the ability to engage effectively with older people and older people's groups at local and national levels; and to facilitate understanding of age-related issues in outreach, campaign and lobbying contexts.
Requirements for the Post
The successful candidate is likely to have the following:
- Campaign experience
- Advocacy and lobbying capacity
- Knowledge and understanding of the Irish policy environment, of age-related issues and of influences on public opinion in relation to those issues
- Analytical, networking and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Terms and Conditions
- The post is temporary and is available on a 16 month fixed term contract basis from September 2011 to December 2012.
- Salary level will be dependent on experience and will be in the €45,000 - €50,000 range with a 10 per cent pension contribution
- The holder of the post will work from Older & Bolder offices, Jervis House, Jervis St., Dublin 1.
- The post will involve some unsocial hours and travel around the country.
