The Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) is delighted to present a seminar entitled EU Law in Practice: A Practitioner's Guide to Identifying, Advising, and Pleading EU law before National and European Courts on 24 June 2011, 2pm - 5pm in European Union House, 18 Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
This seminar will update practitioners on recent developments in EU law, and provide a special opportunity to gain first-hand tips and advice on spotting, interpreting and advising on EU law before national and European Courts. Topics will include the "Court of Justice of the EU: An Inside View", refresher and update on key concepts of EU law (Direct / Indirect Effect, State liability) and advice and tips on pleading EU law before national courts.
Speakers include the Honourable Mrs Justice Fidelma Macken, Judge of The Supreme Court, Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg (1999-2004) and the Honourable Mr Justice Aindrias Ó Caoimh, Judge, Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg.
The event carries 2.5 CPD points and discounted early booking registration fee is available before 4pm on Thursday 16 June 2011 is €45 to paid-up ICEL members, €35 for Associate and Student Members, €55 for Non-Members, €45 for Non-Member students and trainee solicitors and barristers in devilling years.
