Amnesty International seeks Campaigns Officer, deadline 31 May 2011

Applications are invited for a Campaigns Officer for Amnesty International Ireland's Right to Health campaign. The role is offered on a full time basis and the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of key activities of the right to health campaign within the agreed timeframe.

The Campaigns Officer will focus primarily on the public campaign on the right to health, in conjunction with an existing campaigns officer. They will also be responsible for assisting with other communications support for the wider programme.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
o Develop communications materials to engage activists in the right to health campaign, including through website content and social media
o Develop and manage website and social media based content for right to health campaign
o Identify opportunities for maximising campaign reach and impact, in cooperation with campaign officer and wider team
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
o Experience in achieving impact in campaigning and advocacy work, particularly mobilising individuals and groups to take action
o Relevant qualification or experience in media, public relations or communications related field
o Strong experience in communications work including developing messages and materials, using web and social media based tools, and producing multi-media tools

The starting salary for this full-time position of 35 hours per week is approximately €33,000 -€35,000 per annum, depending upon experience. This is a fixed-term position that will run until June 2012. Please click here for a full job description.
