The Irish Human Rights Commission Universal Periodic Review (UPR) project, which is being pursued with philanthropic support, will be aimed at compiling the IHRC Shadow Report to the UN on Ireland's human rights record under the direction of the IHRC. The project's aims include driving an awareness-raising strategy on the UPR process with the Oireachtas, Statutory Bodies, Civil Society Organisations and the Public through briefings, dedicated material and information provision, providing a platform for a broad consultation process with relevant groups, and identifying how the Government might commit to a range of voluntary commitments to positively impact on human rights in Ireland into the future.
The IHRC is now seeking a qualified candidate to implement this project with the current staff of the IHRC taking direction of IHRC Director of Research, Policy and Promotion, under the authority of the Chief Executive. The duration of the contract is 10 Months.
