To mark the 16 Days of Action on Violence against Women, the Irish Observatory on Violence against Women will host a half-day conference ‘The Istanbul Convention: Measuring the Scale of the Crisis’.
The objectives of this conference is to keep the pressure on the Irish government to speedily ratify the Istanbul Convention and in particular support the establishment of a gold standard of data collection and analysis by all agencies working in the area of domestic and sexual violence, in line with Article 11 of the Convention. Speakers include An Tanaiste Frances Fitzgerald, Ms. Lynn Boylan MEP and Ms. Marja Ruotanen, Director of Human Dignity and Equality, Council of Europe.
