Age Action and the Gaiety School of Acting: International Conference, Elder Abuse, Ageism and Human Rights – 7 November, Dublin

Venue: Smock Alley Theatre, 6/7 Exchange Street Lower, Temple Bar, Dublin 8.

The focus of this conference is on new ways of conceptualising elder abuse and preventing elder abuse. The conference will explore ‘generational intelligence’ as a response to ageism; culture and loneliness in the context of elder abuse and the empowerment of older people through the activation of their human rights. The conference will also offer an opportunity for attendees to examine sociodrama as a medium for addressing social issues.

The conference will be of interest to residential care providers, policy makers, researchers, older people, academics, students and individuals working in the ageing sector.
