Ulster University: Lecturer in Clinical Legal Education – deadline 13 October

The School of Law in Ulster University in Belfast is looking for a Lecturer in Clinical Legal Education on a permanent full time basis. The Ulster Law Clinic has gained a very strong local and national reputation, and stands at the forefront of elements of the University’s civic engagement mission in its provision of free legal services on social security or employment law problems, and its educational mission in providing real-world work-based learning experience.

The role will involve helping to develop the law clinic at the Belfast campus and contributing to the LLM in Clinical Legal Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the law students, overseeing their advice work, and research and teaching responsibilities.

Applicants should have an honours degree, with further qualifications desirable. They should have experience teaching and examining law at tertiary level, delivering legal services in a confidential environment and academic administration. Further desirable experience includes the ability to monitor and evaluate procedures and performances to develop improved working practices, experience engaging with stakeholder organisations, NGOs or government bodies.
