PROBE: Changing Ireland, Changing Law – 30 September, Dublin

Date: 30 September 2016

Time: 5.30-6.30pm

Venue: Trinity Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin

Can legal action trigger positive social change? Law professors Ivana Bacik and Mary Rogan will be joined by Máirín De Burca, David Norris, and Lydia Foy – three litigants whose cases sparked legal and social change in Ireland – as well as Rachel Power from the Public Interest Law Alliance.

This event is part of ‘PROBE: Research Uncovered at Trinity College Dublin’, and reflects on a series of seminars organised by Dr. Mary Rogan and Prof. Ivana Bacik in partnership with the Public Interest Law Alliance (PILA), the National Women’s Council (NWCI), the Gay & Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN) and the Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI).

PROBE is an evening of music, talks, performance, films, food, experiments and workshops that explore the fascinating research that is shaping our world. Examine your brainwaves, listen to the sun, watch parasites hatch from their eggs, uncover the hidden secrets of the Book of Kells at this pop-up festival in Trinity’s Front Square – complete with music on the main stage from Carol Anne McGowan and Stomptown Bass.

This event is free and open to all ages.
