Maynooth Univesity: The EU Social Market Economy, Challenges and Opportunities – 23 September, Maynooth

The Maynooth University Department of Law is hosting an all-day conference which will examine the complex set of issues which have arisen out of the EU Social Market Economy. Running throughout the day, this conference will feature themes such as Labour Law, Internal Market Law, Competition and Company Law. The conference involves a large list of keynote speakers.

The conference intends to examine how social rights can be protected within different aspects of EU law. This is the first of a few new initiatives that will centre on the meaning of the ‘social market economy’ objective specified in Art.3 TFEU.

Speakers include: Prof. Sybe De Vries (University of Utrecht), Prof. Dagmar Schieck (Queen’s University Belfast), Dr Egle Dagilyte (Anglia Ruskin University), Prof.  Blanaid Clarke (Trinity College Dublin),

The conference will be chair by Professor Michael Doherty and Dr. Delia Ferri.
