Simon Community: Housing, Homelessness, and Rights – 26 September, Dublin

Date: Monday 26 September

Time: 10:00 – 13.15

Venue: The Davenport Hotel, 8-10 Merrion Street Lower, Dublin 2

As part of their Simon Week 2016 national events, the Simon Community are running a seminar on housing and homelessness. Simon recognise that people who are homeless and living in housing insecurity often experience multiple exclusion and discrimination finding it difficult to ensure that their rights are upheld across the interconnected areas of housing, health and wellbeing.

The seminar will focus on the importance of enshrining rights at the heart of policy, practice and legislative processes to ensure there are meaningful changes in the lives and experiences of people who are homeless and those living on the edge.

Speakers at the event include Rick Lyons, Harm Reduction International; Martin Cawley, Turning Point Scotland; Maeve Regan, Mercy Law Centre; Professor Brendan Kelly, Trinity College Dublin; and Senator Colette Kelleher.

This event is free of charge.
