IPRT: Senior Research & Policy Project Manager – deadline 24 August 2016

The Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) is Ireland’s leading non-governmental organisation that campaigns for rights in the penal system and the progressive reform of Irish penal policy. IPRT is seeking a Senior Research and Policy Project Manager on a fixed-term contract of three years.

This role involves research programme delivery and planning, including the management of interns and project management. Furthermore, as part of a new human rights project, this role will require involvement in the production of a flagship annual publication on human rights in prison, primarily with the initial methodology design, research and delivery of the substantive content of this publication.

Candidates should have a relevant third level qualification (e.g. law, social science, criminology or human rights); a knowledge of the Irish penal and social policy and the relevant human rights provisions applicable; understanding of policy-making processes; experience in a research role; evidence of published research/policy papers; and a commitment to social justice.
