Cork Alliance Centre: Narrowing the Disconnect – The Ethics of Supporting Desistance from Crime 15-16 September

The Cork Alliance Centre works with people released from prison, supporting them in making a fresh start, both in terms of reducing offending and increasing positive participation in family and community life. This 2 day conference is centred around the experience of past and present beneficiaries of the Cork Alliance Centre services.

There will be a keynote address by President Michael D. Higgins and a premier showing of a new documentary made with service users, and five service users will present at the conference. Furthermore, there will be inputs from the following international speakers: Allan Weaver, Dr Deirdre Healy, Professor Shadd Maruna, and Professor Joanna Shapland.

Attendance at the 2 day conference costs €50, and attendance at the conference dinner costs €40.
