The Permanent Representation of Ireland to the Council of Europe: Intern – deadline 27 June

The Permanent Representation of Ireland to the Council of Europe are currently seeking a temporary intern. The contract is for a full time 11 month position, with 23 days annual leave calculated on a pro rata basis according to the length of the contract. Hours of attendance are fixed on the basis of not less than 43 ¼ hours per week. Salary will be €2,647 per month.

The ideal candidate will have fluency in English and a working knowledge of French. They will also have an understanding of Irish foreign policy priorities and Irish government administration, knowledge of the Council of Europe structures and history, and work experience in a multilateral or international organisation.

The successful candidate will be based in Strasbourg and assume the position on 1 September. Candidates are responsible for their own accommodation.

Applicants should note that citizens of non-European Economic Area States are not eligible to compete. Applicants who have previously undertaken an internship or employment of six months or more (or who have already had a second internship) in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or in an Irish Diplomatic Mission abroad are not eligible to compete.
