Ombudsman for Children’s Office: Policy & Human Rights Officer – deadline 26 January

The Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) has issued an invitation to tender for the position of Policy & Human Rights Officer (Maternity Cover). It is a temporary contract for service in the Policy and Human Rights Unit of the Office.

The role of the Ombudsman for Children is to promote and safeguard the rights and welfare of children and young people up to 18 years of age and to investigate complaints made by children and young people or by adults on their behalf, about most types of schools and hospitals along with Government Departments and certain public bodies.

The contract will be for an initial period of 26 weeks with an option to extend by a further period of up to 16 weeks. The person selected will be expected to be in a position to start work in early February 2016.
