Children’s Ombudsman: Director of Investigations – Deadline 28 May, Dublin

The Director will report directly to the Ombudsman for Children.  They will manage the more complex investigations into public bodies listed in the Children’s Act 2002 act and ensure that the Ombudsman fulfils his role in accordance with the remit laid down in the 2002 act.

The ideal candidate will have a level 8 qualification on the National Framework for Qualifications in a relevant area such as public policy, social justice or law. The candidate will also have substantial experience in the evaluation or analysis of complex issues relevant to the Ombudsman for Children’s Office. Other experience would include a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation regarding children and young people and a proven track record of leadership and management in a dynamic environment.
