5th Annual Countess Markievicz School – 23 May, Dublin

The Countess Markievicz School was founded in 2011 by a group of students in the School of Social Justice in University College Dublin, out of concern about the declining numbers of women in public and political life in Ireland. The school provides a discussion forum on women in Ireland in honour of Ireland’s first female MP and Cabinet Minister. Addressing different topics each year along with an honorary Markievicz lecture, the 5th annual Markievicz School will cover the two topics of Direct Provision and Reproductive Rights.
