Irish Rule of Law International: Programme Manager – 29 April 2015

Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) is seeking a Programme Manager to join its Access to Justice Programme in Lilongwe, Malawi. Since August 2011, IRLI has been working in Malawi to address capacity challenges within the criminal justice sector with the overall aim of promoting the rule of law and improving access to justice for unrepresented and particularly vulnerable persons.

The Programme Manager will manage and oversee the completion and reporting of the current programme cycle; provide guidance and support to the IRLI team in Malawi in the planning and implementation of activities; build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors and stakeholders; and ensure monitoring and evaluation activities and reporting meet IRLI’s donor commitments. The selected candidate will join IRLI’s team of volunteer lawyers in Lilongwe who are working also in the Legal Aid Bureau, in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and with the Malawi Police Service and the Judiciary.

The position is for a period of 2 years commencing Monday 1 June 2015.  Travel expenses, health insurance and accommodation costs will be provided for, in addition to a monthly volunteer living allowance.
