NUIG: Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Law – deadline 12 March 2015

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Law at the School of Law, NUI Galway. Applicants will normally have a Ph.D at or near completion or an equivalent academic qualification in law.

The successful candidate will be required to teach in the area of Private/Commercial Law where the School of Law has a particular need in the following subject areas: areas: Company Law, Insurance Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Revenue Law and Private International Law. A capacity to contribute to Clinical Legal Education offerings will also be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have an active research profile in Law demonstrated by published output with strong evidence of future potential to contribute to the research output of the School of Law in accordance with evolving standards. S/he is expected to play a productive role in enhancing the teaching, research and related activities of the School of Law. Duties will include teaching, examining and administration in undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes as well as other appropriate contributions to the broader activities of the School of Law.
