Researcher (Law) in the Houses of the Oireachtas Service – deadline 30 October 2014

The Library and Research Service is a busy working environment with challenging deadlines and high standards. Researchers work on multidisciplinary teams and engage directly with Members using their subject expertise and knowledge to inform Members on issues. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of Senior Researchers and under the overall direction of the Head of Research to provide accurate, high quality and impartial research, analysis and information to individual Members, Committees and Houses of the Oireachtas Service staff. Members use L&RS research for chamber debates, policy development, Committee work and media appearances.

Examples of research undertaken:

  • Pre-legislative scrutiny research work for Committees
  • Analytical Bill Digest papers and Bill Tracker (online) pages for second stage debate
  • Research for Committees and Members
