The European Pro Bono Alliance is a project of PILnet and its partners, including PILA, to reinforce the European pro bono community and to find new opportunities for long term sustainability. The project pools expertise to strengthen individual and collective pro bono work. The Alliance has launched a new website which contains information on its members and upcoming events

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (BHR) has launched its multi-lingual, re-designed website. The site shines a spotlight on the human rights conduct of over 5600 companies globally: it includes advances they are making, allegations of human rights abuse, and how they are responding to concerns.

Call for Nominations: European Award for Partnership in the Public Interest

Deadline: 31 July 2014

PILnet: The Global Network for Public Interest Law is seeking nominations for the fourth annual European Award for Partnership in the Public Interest, which will recognize the best pro bono legal project (or projects) undertaken jointly between a nongovernmental organization and a law firm in Europe.

It is now easier than ever to bring recognition to a deserving pro bono collaboration: nominations for the award can all be submitted through an online form. Self-nominations are welcome.

The award will be announced on 6 November 2014 during PILnet’s European Pro Bono Forum in London.

PILA was previously shortlisted for the 2013 award for facilitating a referral between TENI, FLAC and PILA Pro Bono Register barrister David Dodd.
