Amnesty International call for submissions to the Constitutional Convention on Socio-economic rights

Amnesty International has called for members of the public to make submissions asking the Constitutional Convention to discuss economic, social and cultural rights during its final session.

Ireland has committed to protect your economic, social and cultural (ESC) rights in international law but many of these rights are missing from the Irish Constitution. At a time of austerity, how we defend people’s rights to housing, healthcare, work, an adequate standard of living – and what those rights actually mean – has never been more relevant.
